Red Ribbon Ceremony

  • Patchen Community Square 868 Putnam Ave Brooklyn, NY 11221 (map)

Part of the 2022 National Week of Action for MMIW

Please join the members of Patchen Community Square as we mark the start of National Week of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (4/29-5/5). From 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, we will be tying (compostable) red ribbons to our fence in honor of those women, girls, and two-spirit people who have been stolen, and in support of those who survive. This will be a quiet, reflective event in which we will collectively create a temporary art installation. Drop by at any time to join us. (We ask that you wear a mask when visiting our garden, out of love and respect for the most vulnerable members of our community.) Red is the color associated with the issue of MMIWG2S. You are welcome to wear something red, if you wish to, in solidarity.

Image shows text on red background. Text reads: Red ribbon ceremony for missing & murdered indigenous women, girls, and 2 spirit people. Fri April 29, 6:00-7:30PM. Patchen Community Square Garden, corner of Putnam & Patchen.
