June Garden Update!

- WOOD CHIP:
We've got most of the woodchip spread this weekend! Yay! There is still a pile from the third truckload that needs to be eaten through. (This is the mound that is near where the garden beds are going.)
The third load had most of the shreddings and small stuff, and we should be sifting these shreddings into the garden beds. Can someone please focus on this tomorrow and/or Sunday? (If kids show up, they are good help with sifting. We sifted through 2 or 3 yards of it last weekend with all those kids. Lex sifted a fraction of that when he was there on Wednesday.) - SOIL FROM ORCHARD:
There is still a pile of soil from digging out the orchard. It needs to be sifted. If someone wants to use it for their individual bed, you're welcome to it. Otherwise, Lex will be sifting it into the first common bed on Sunday. If you sift it, gravel goes to near the entrance gate. - RUBBLE:
Not a priority -- but if there are many hands, or you are looking for something to do during the week -- we still have that gulch near the entrance gate to fill-in. It should be filled in with Rubble. You can carry loads of cracked bricks in the wheelbarrow and just dump them in the trench. Stephanie is an expert at turning them into layers. We'll be generating alot more gravel next month, so should get the rubble into place this week. (And, the current rubble pile is getting full of japanese knot-weed!) Big cement rubble should go to the retaining wall, to the east of the entrance gate.
